1st Cross stitch & 1st Knit Skirt

Happy Valentine, my Lovely Angels...! My Heart for you EVERY day :*

Oh, I started this month of love with a week of total bed rest. We are having an extreme rainy season since several months ago and it seems will continued on until I don't know when....therefore, diseases are everywhere, especially cough and cold. Unfortunately, Mommy was infected with these diseases badly.

Thank God now everything and everyone in the house are back to normal routine again now...Alhamdulillah ;)

Anyway, during my recovery, Mommy managed to knit a birthday present to my lovely niece, Sophia. I squeezed up my strength to knit two or three rounds everyday with the hope that I could catch up with the deadline...although I know it's impossible, and it is. Because finally *sense of relief*, it's done today...10 days later after her Birthday...upsy ;p. I used BERNAT Baby Jacquards 100g. It's my first time using this yarn...and I love it! Even though it's a bit slippery for me to knit but I love the warmth and the softness and the puffy feel of this yarn...favourite! The pattern is from Bernat Design Studio, you can check it out at Ravelry, and it's FREE!

Flash News!...
I'm Cross stitching! And I LOVE it! (^^,)

POTD

Hi there Dear....

Last night when I browsed at some knick-knacks online shops, suddenly I have these cute ideas...and it has something to do with burlap....yup, BURLAP! A rather uncommon type of fabric to use other than sack, but surprisingly when I typed BURLAP and clicked Search on Google Images...Wow! Beautiful stuff and ideas popped on my monitor. Some of them was pinned on my Pinterest board, but I'm still gonna share some of my favourites here...

If you want to experiment using Burlap, what will you make? Kindly share it with Mommy, I love to read it ;)

Take care my Dearest Angels... :*

Another Crochet Ribbed Beanie

Heeeey, Dear...!

Horaay for Mommy as I just finished another Crochet Ribbed Beanie for your Grandpa. Made from the same yarn like your Daddy's beanie, LB Vanna's Choice in Dark Grey. BUT, unfortunately there weren't enough yarn for the crown, so I substitute it with Caron Country in Charcoal. Not much different from the colour tone, but they do different in fiber character --Caron is more light and flexible--. However, you will hardly notice it, as it only on the couple of rounds of the crown ;p.

Anyway, like I told you before here that this Crochet Ribbed Beanie is an easy pattern and one of my favourite. It isn't crochet in rounds-top-to-bottom, instead it made in rows so you can get that 'knit-ribbed' look. The rows part are easy, but it's a bit tricky for me to ending the crown. I've tried to look on Youtube on 'How-to' ending crochet beanie, but I found nothing. Of course, that's because commonly Hat or Beanie is crochet from top-to-bottom. BUT, then I found these two videos that help me so much with this 'case'. Now...I'll happily share the videos to you so you guys can also tried this wonderful pattern for yourself or your loved one :D

The second video, I don't know why, can not embed. But you can go straight to her youtube channel here....also you'll found other fun crochet project tutorials from Teresa. Oh, and believe me, Miss Teresa is a very wonderful crochet teacher :)

So...may my Angels have a wonderful crocheting times, and wish you all a beautiful-wonderful Hat to wear on ;D.

XOXO..... :*

Beanie for Hubby

Evening Dear.....

Finally, I made something for my beloved Husband. Hehehehe...your Daddy asked me to craft something for him. Well, maybe after some Knit and Crochet projects I made for my Angels and other family members, it's time I make something for him. So when I was looking at Hat pictures on Ravelry, your Dad chose one picture and said, "Make me this one, Dear". Oh, with my pleasure Honey...'coz he chose a Crochet Beanie picture...YES, back to crochet! ;p

I'm using Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in Dark Grey colour. It's a Medium weight yarn...

The Beanie was Crocheted with Knit-stitch look, so I think it's kind of cool. I love the yarn I'm using, I love the pattern --it's easy to follow-- and moreover your Daddy LOVE the result! He thinks it's AWESOME! And then I would say, "Cool, Dude....", hehehehe ;p

ps : Beanie Pattern can be seen at my Ravelry

September Rocks!

Hi Honey...! ;)

Yes, I love this month a lot! Mommy is a little bit over productive. There have been some hustle and bustle in the crafting area for the last two weeks as Mommy finally finished three crochet projects......yup, three....honey! Three crochet projects and...all DONE! And Nooo, this hot-y Momma is unstoppable about crafting as she already on her next project to make a Cover for sewing machine. But, bad news for me, there's something wrong with my sewing machine so I'm hand-sewing for this project. And of course I'll share the story and some pictures to you after it ready ;). Oh, another update, finally Mommy start to learn Knitting. Aside that I'm so excited about it, I found that Knitting is waaay harder than Crocheting. Well, I'm still working on it and am sure I'll get there somehow... ;)

So, I first started on the Poncho, since August to be exactly. I considered it as a big project, so there were some pausing just to keep me fresh. I'm using two yarns with the colour of Aisya's fave colours, pink and purple. It's Local cotton and I supposed the weight is Sport (but since I joined two yarns together it became Worsted), and using F hook.

The Result.....Ta Daaa....!

Second project is Pretty Hat. I made this cute one in between my paused working on Poncho. It's a lovely and easy pattern. And it's definitely becoming my favourite hat pattern. I was using a 100% wool Sport yarn in dark Pink and light Pink, and made this with G hook.

And for the last crochet project of this month, I made something for myself. Something to warm my neck and also can be accessories for the look. So I was making a lace-y-look Cowl. It's also a pretty and easy pattern, so it's also in my Favourite list in my Ravelry. The Cowl was made with local cotton Worsted yarns using a 4.00mm hook. I love it and use it every night when I'm doin' my stuff on the computer :).

Now I can break for a while from Crochet and start concentrating to practice my Knit lesson, and my sewing skill (especially on how to use a sewing machine ;p). I've made some list of both Knit and Sewing project that I am thrill to try to make! Like the Saying said..."Never stop Learning"....You too Honey, go on finding what you desire to learn, whatever that is (but stay on positive things, okay!). Learn it, try to make it, and reward yourself no matter good or bad the result is....the Reward is for the Process, okay Dear?!

ps : For the Poncho, Hat, and the Cowl patterns can be seen on my Ravelry :)

Sewing Project - Quick Pants

Hei Babes........

Last night Mommy already shared to you my Veritas story, my first sewing machine story. I also did a trial to get used on using my Veritas, so I made a baby pants, an easy one for a newbie like me ;p. It was awkward when I first worked on the sewing machine, still NEED to adjust on the rhythm between the foot dynamo-the needle-and the right gesture on guiding the fabric. Do you know how hard it is just to sew a straight line!?!

Okay, like I did mention on the previous post how I often spent my time browsing on free video Tutorials on Youtube, and yes I subscribed to a lot of craft channels. One of my favorite channel is TheCraftGemini, you can find easy-to-follow video Tutorials of Sewing, Quilting, and Cooking, and yesterday I tried to make a baby pants based on how is taught on the video. So....let me share you the step-by-step pictures....Notes : I'll just give some short captions on each pictures since this is my first project (oh, I'm so embarrassed as the sewing rookie ;p), but I'll be giving you the full video tutorial on how to make it (^^,)......

Choose a baby pants for the template and place it with the long side of the pants on the folded side of the fabric, like in the picture below.

Trace it on the wrong side of your fabric

Don't forget to add 1/2" for seam allowance, cut it, and do another one with the same steps.

Now you'll have two pants patterns.

Unfolded the two patterns, match them together with the right side facing each other on the inside, as in the picture. Pinned and sew both of the Crotch.

Irons to smooth the pants lines. I also found it easier to sew the legs without the need to pin.

Now we can sewing the legs part, then hem the bottom of the feet.

I'm using elastic for the waist.

And.....Voila, my first baby pants!

If you notice I'm using the zig-zag stitch when making this pants. Why...? Because my straight stitch is a big mess! I need to practice on it a lot! Another mistakes I made was the waist. I didn't measure it properly. Remember the baby pants I chose for the template? It's using elastic and on the small size of it. Now, the right thing I should do is to stretch it to get the original measure of the waist.....like in the picture below :

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result, and of course I have a lot of Notes to be fixed on another projects to come. After all, a perfect Diamond needs a long process to make....got it!?! Now, as I promise before, I'll give you the video of How-To from TheCraftGemini....do check out her channel on Youtube, so informative and so much helpful. Sweet dream Sweet Pies.... :*

Crochet Updates

Buona notte, Angeli.........

And that would be 'Good Evening, Angels....' in Italy ;)

How are you doin'? Mommy is well, Alhamdulillah....Although I'm starting to feel the stiff around my neck is coming back again. I'm afraid it's because of my cholesterol is getting back on the high number again (-_-'). Oh well, perhaps I should try to do crochet on treadmill?! Speaking of Crochet....finally I finished the Yellow Cardigan for Alicia. Boy, it took me 3 weeks to finish it. There were some bored moments in between that I should refreshed myself with a bit of games, tried on some recipes (and it was an un grand succès!), and I even managed to make a new beanie for miss Sophia. So I wiped out my forehead now and I could move on to another new project. Ups, I should do the blocking first (maybe tomorrow...or whenever I made the time :p).

The Picot Stictch

Oh yes, I learned new stitch. The pattern is using Picot stitch for the trimming but I couldn't following the Picot direction on the pattern. So I seek for help from one of my fave Tutorial channel on Youtube, and I was like 'Piece of cake'...You can learn it too ;D!

Oh, so Handsome!

Hi there Dolls......

Still in holiday mood, so I guess it's still tolerable to wake up at 9AM, even the morning-alarm monsieur Agasha is also wake up late. We definitely enjoying life here ;)

What's up today? Daddy's clue was, "I want Duck Rice. Let's have Duck Rice". Off we go then to Pondok Indah Mall 2 (PIM 2) to have Duck Rice for lunch, a long with Oma-Opa, Feufeu-Iway, and of course little Miss -high pitched- Sophia. The Food Court was crowded, needed 2 laps before we decided to sit on the outer ring near Pizza Hut. A bit far from the Duck Rice's stall, but the bright side was the children had spaces to running around and still in our sight.

My highlight of the day was the handsome-one-year-old Monsieur Agasha. As he grew the more Mommy likes to dress him up, so todays shopping was for Agasha only.....I know, I can't helped it! Oh he was so cute and damn so handsome wearing red-checkered shirt, cargo pants, and blue canvas shoes....thank goodness he's still a year old. And yes I tried to take some pictures, and hoping for a good-with-no-blur pictures....but......

Since Mommy shot it from camera phone and Agasha wasn't stand still, no surprise the results are poor and messy. But at least we've got the pictures ;p.

And below are the whole collections. The Shirt is a gift of birth, the Pants is from uncle Dimas-aunty Wida, and the Shoes are from uncle Sahal-aunty Yuning.

Like to dress up your little boy too? I recommend you to check on Boys collection at Amazon.com,  they having discounts up to 70%. I've made my picks for my Angels, they're in "Fave for Angels" banner on the side bar ;)

My 1st Crochet Pullover

Howdy Angels... ;D

*hfff* Finally, my Baby Pullover finished. Took almost a week to make this project, and I was need a bit more time to figured out some part of the pattern. I need more than twice to read it again and again until I got what the pattern wanted me to do...hehehehe :p.

It isn't a good one...yet...but now I know the basic of how to crochet a pullover/sweater/jacket, and I know now the trick to sewing crochet seams, definitely will apply it on my next projects (^^,).

My computer desk *slash* my work desk ;p

The Right Sleeve sewing was a mess (in pink circle) as I was still figuring it out, but then after I know the trick the other sleeve looks more better (the upper sleeve)

So....this is the result...Taddaaa...!!!!

ps : I got the Pullover pattern from here
