My Birthday Little Girl...!

10 Things I Know About Alicia.....the-little-girl-who-just-turned-4 in the clan ;p :

1. She can wear flip-flops correctly. No more right-and-left-mixed-up....(finally *sigh)
2. The Rebellious chick....well, she's a bit a 'my way' missy...but, the adorable one :)
3. She's the most often to get penalties and to get yelled at...(and Mommy always feel sorry afterward)
4. BUT, she's the first kid who will rub your back and kiss your forehead when you sick...awww :*
5. She plays with the hardcore way with her siblings...although she always takes one of her dolls everywhere.
6. She loves to hug while sleeping :)
7. It's so hard to get her tidy up! -_-'
8. Now she's excited to learn to wear her own clothes.
9. She has good stamina....but sometimes it's a minus point when turned to too active.
10. She's sweet...so sweet I couldn't stand not to cuddle her even when I'm furiously mad at her.
......
Oh, wish I could go on with the list...

This cutie...

Has grown into

this Beautiful Angel :*

Puffy Water Dispenser Cover

Hi there Cupcakes..... ;*

First of all, I feel sorry for the Floods that hit Jakarta lately. Almost everyday we have a non-stop rain, and that caused Jakarta is fully paralyzed by floods today. However, I hope the Authority and the Community can cooperate together to overcome this disaster. And I'm hoping for the flood victims are all safe and well in their shelter....Amin
              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, I finally finished my longest-time-ever crochet project. I let you take a peek in this post, and a week later I managed to wrap it up.......Woooshaaaa.....mission accomplished!!!
There's nothing fancy with this pattern. I just got inspired when seeing this puff stitch, and I have some cotton yarns which had no idea what will be made. So, tried to made a pattern for my water dispenser. And I didn't write down the pattern since the steps was created during the making, so.....sorry :(
BUT, if you like to make your own pattern from Puff stitch, here is a tutorial of How-to Crochet Puff stitch.
I'll see you later, Angels...it's getting chillin' here...brrrr!
December 31, 2012
2012 was...
...my most PASSIONATE year!
Of course, there were Ups and Downs...the Rollercoaster of Life. But Alhamdulillah, this year I really feel complete, focused, productive, and very much enjoying my life...to the fullest! :D
Ups :
my online Boutique :D
Downs :
My babies are my everything. They are my world, my dreams, my inspirations, my life....If something happened to them, it's like my world is taken away from me or like stripping off my soul from my body. And my very Low moments was when Agasha get Dehydrated and when we Lost him two days before New Year. Hopefully there won't be any terrifying moments happened in 2013 and the years after...Amin.
How is your Ups and Downs, Dear? Hopefully what we had in 2012 can be a good ammo to face what's await in 2013...Amin :)
POTD
Hi there Dear....
Last night when I browsed at some knick-knacks online shops, suddenly I have these cute ideas...and it has something to do with burlap....yup, BURLAP! A rather uncommon type of fabric to use other than sack, but surprisingly when I typed BURLAP and clicked Search on Google Images...Wow! Beautiful stuff and ideas popped on my monitor. Some of them was pinned on my Pinterest board, but I'm still gonna share some of my favourites here...
If you want to experiment using Burlap, what will you make? Kindly share it with Mommy, I love to read it ;)
Take care my Dearest Angels... :*
Another Crochet Ribbed Beanie
Heeeey, Dear...!
Horaay for Mommy as I just finished another Crochet Ribbed Beanie for your Grandpa. Made from the same yarn like your Daddy's beanie, LB Vanna's Choice in Dark Grey. BUT, unfortunately there weren't enough yarn for the crown, so I substitute it with Caron Country in Charcoal. Not much different from the colour tone, but they do different in fiber character --Caron is more light and flexible--. However, you will hardly notice it, as it only on the couple of rounds of the crown ;p.
Anyway, like I told you before here that this Crochet Ribbed Beanie is an easy pattern and one of my favourite. It isn't crochet in rounds-top-to-bottom, instead it made in rows so you can get that 'knit-ribbed' look. The rows part are easy, but it's a bit tricky for me to ending the crown. I've tried to look on Youtube on 'How-to' ending crochet beanie, but I found nothing. Of course, that's because commonly Hat or Beanie is crochet from top-to-bottom. BUT, then I found these two videos that help me so much with this 'case'. Now...I'll happily share the videos to you so you guys can also tried this wonderful pattern for yourself or your loved one :D
The second video, I don't know why, can not embed. But you can go straight to her youtube channel here....also you'll found other fun crochet project tutorials from Teresa. Oh, and believe me, Miss Teresa is a very wonderful crochet teacher :)
So...may my Angels have a wonderful crocheting times, and wish you all a beautiful-wonderful Hat to wear on ;D.
XOXO..... :*
Beanie for Hubby
Evening Dear.....
Finally, I made something for my beloved Husband. Hehehehe...your Daddy asked me to craft something for him. Well, maybe after some Knit and Crochet projects I made for my Angels and other family members, it's time I make something for him. So when I was looking at Hat pictures on Ravelry, your Dad chose one picture and said, "Make me this one, Dear". Oh, with my pleasure Honey...'coz he chose a Crochet Beanie picture...YES, back to crochet! ;p
I'm using Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in Dark Grey colour. It's a Medium weight yarn...
The Beanie was Crocheted with Knit-stitch look, so I think it's kind of cool. I love the yarn I'm using, I love the pattern --it's easy to follow-- and moreover your Daddy LOVE the result! He thinks it's AWESOME! And then I would say, "Cool, Dude....", hehehehe ;p
ps : Beanie Pattern can be seen at my Ravelry
Earth Calling...
....Mommy!....
I'm still here sweet pies, Mommy is still here....just a little bit distracted ;D. Yup, it's always be one of my weaknesses, to be too concentrate...too focus whenever I learn something new or making something difficult or whatever that's need high attention. And sometimes when I'm on this 'mode' I tend to be Mrs. Cranky...hehehe...bad effect, huh!?
What is it that I'm focusing on? My Knitting Lessons! I'm learning to Knit now! It's not as easy as Crochet, you know...waaay much harder I may say. On crochet, if I made a mistake on my stitches or miss a stitch, I can figure it out easily. But with Knit, a drop stitch means start from the beginning! I'm on my 3rd project now, and still find some difficulties getting through the-after-cast-on rounds/rows. Plus, now I'm trying to make a basic hat using DPN (Double Pointed Needles)....I was so close to change to crochet it instead :p
Well, just a little bit of Mommy's update, I'd better continue my Knit again :). Wish me luck, Angels....Love you :* !
My 1st Paper Pieced Patchwork
Aaah...finally I finished my Patchwork homework, actually it was finished last week but I just got the chance to upload it now :p. This one is the project from The Patchwork Course I attended two weeks ago. When I first knew they were goin' to held a Patchwork course, I was straight away signed myself in, 'coz I already into Quilt and Patchwork for sometimes and it took place not far away from my area (it was held at Depok, about 45 minutes away)....so I said : "Hell, YES!". Our teacher was a very nice lady, and patient also :D. I was a bit confused at the beginning when making this paper pieced, but when I "click" with it I'm back on track ;). Now my Top Quilt is done, and I'm sooo happy and sooo pleased! Can't wait for the next project ;)
For you who lives in Jakarta area and wanted to learn Patchwork and Quilt also, you can check for The Course schedule in their Facebook page here. The lovely teacher is Eka Yunita and she also own a Workshop in Plaza Semanggi, so come and check it out ;)!
September Rocks!
Hi Honey...! ;)
Yes, I love this month a lot! Mommy is a little bit over productive. There have been some hustle and bustle in the crafting area for the last two weeks as Mommy finally finished three crochet projects......yup, three....honey! Three crochet projects and...all DONE! And Nooo, this hot-y Momma is unstoppable about crafting as she already on her next project to make a Cover for sewing machine. But, bad news for me, there's something wrong with my sewing machine so I'm hand-sewing for this project. And of course I'll share the story and some pictures to you after it ready ;). Oh, another update, finally Mommy start to learn Knitting. Aside that I'm so excited about it, I found that Knitting is waaay harder than Crocheting. Well, I'm still working on it and am sure I'll get there somehow... ;)
So, I first started on the Poncho, since August to be exactly. I considered it as a big project, so there were some pausing just to keep me fresh. I'm using two yarns with the colour of Aisya's fave colours, pink and purple. It's Local cotton and I supposed the weight is Sport (but since I joined two yarns together it became Worsted), and using F hook.
The Result.....Ta Daaa....!
Second project is Pretty Hat. I made this cute one in between my paused working on Poncho. It's a lovely and easy pattern. And it's definitely becoming my favourite hat pattern. I was using a 100% wool Sport yarn in dark Pink and light Pink, and made this with G hook.
And for the last crochet project of this month, I made something for myself. Something to warm my neck and also can be accessories for the look. So I was making a lace-y-look Cowl. It's also a pretty and easy pattern, so it's also in my Favourite list in my Ravelry. The Cowl was made with local cotton Worsted yarns using a 4.00mm hook. I love it and use it every night when I'm doin' my stuff on the computer :).
Now I can break for a while from Crochet and start concentrating to practice my Knit lesson, and my sewing skill (especially on how to use a sewing machine ;p). I've made some list of both Knit and Sewing project that I am thrill to try to make! Like the Saying said..."Never stop Learning"....You too Honey, go on finding what you desire to learn, whatever that is (but stay on positive things, okay!). Learn it, try to make it, and reward yourself no matter good or bad the result is....the Reward is for the Process, okay Dear?!
ps : For the Poncho, Hat, and the Cowl patterns can be seen on my Ravelry :)
I Love You Mister Maker!
Hi Angels.....
Uh, it's late already, but I promised to post on The Mister Maker Workshop, since it was a rare event, and I believe it was special for Aisya and Alicia....so, Mommy can't let you down, can't I ;)
The Mister Maker Show on CBeebies is A MUST show to watch for Aisya, Alicia, and Agasha. Oh yes, although my little man is just 1 year old but he does watch it and he does recognize Mister Maker face....believe me! So, when I know that Mister Maker is going to Indonesia again (yup, it's the second time the show came here and we missed the 1st time) I straightly planned that this time my babies MUST see it (and him of course)! But then Mommy found out about the Mister Maker Contest on Facebook, then I entered it for Aisya.....and Alhamdulillah we got a seat for Aisya to come at Mister Maker Workshop one day before the Mall Roadshow. The seat for the workshop is limited, so it was kind of special for us. Me and Aisya were so excited to see Mister Maker, and the rest of the family were excited to see Aisya's excitement. BUT, the excitement didn't stop right there, because the next day I got news from Mrs. Ruchika, the nice lady from CBeebies Asia, that they got another available seat for Alicia (she knew it from my e-mail). So there we were, one excited family can't wait to see Mister Maker in real! Cool....!
The workshop was on the school day, and the venue was a bit distance away from Aisya's school. We really didn't won't to be late on that special day (I know I mentioned "Special" over and over again...well, because it is SPECIAL ;D!), so I asked Aisya's teacher to permit her not attending class on that day, and of course Mommy did explained why, and her teachers/Misses were so happy for her too....ain't that sweet!?
I can't review the details of what happened on the day. Well, to be frankly...I personally a bit disappointed because the workshop runs much shorter than the scheduled time, which was supposed to be one hour, but because Mister Maker came late so the workshop just runs maybe around....what, 45 minutes?! Well, that was a blink of an eye for me. Oh, another sad thing is, my babies didn't have a chance to take a picture with Mister Maker...(while Mommy already thought of a pose with him too...sad). But, above all, we still had a Special and Happy day to got a chance to meet and see up close and personal with Mister Maker. The face my babies usually just seen behind the TV glass, they saw it in real......"He is REAL, Mommy!!", screamed my girls.....And the wonderful thing for me is, to see their face and smile of happiness. And you know what? That was their first experienced of seeing an idol! For that, I would like to thank you to Mrs. Ruchika for the precious opportunity for my babies, thank you so much :). And for Mister Maker, thank you so much for being such a wonderful role figure for my babies, please keep on be their favourite :).
Okay, if you wondering how was the event like or how was the situation, I resumed up the videos for you
ps : It took time for me to edit the videos. Since "Mommy Perfectionist" is in charge, I more preferred to add pictures and a little bit of soundtrack, but haven't found the right online video editor (yet), any suggestion?
pps : Aisya loves to play the Mister Maker Games at CBeebies.com....or on CBeebies UK! Come and play too!
Sewing Project - Quick Pants
Hei Babes........
Last night Mommy already shared to you my Veritas story, my first sewing machine story. I also did a trial to get used on using my Veritas, so I made a baby pants, an easy one for a newbie like me ;p. It was awkward when I first worked on the sewing machine, still NEED to adjust on the rhythm between the foot dynamo-the needle-and the right gesture on guiding the fabric. Do you know how hard it is just to sew a straight line!?!
Okay, like I did mention on the previous post how I often spent my time browsing on free video Tutorials on Youtube, and yes I subscribed to a lot of craft channels. One of my favorite channel is TheCraftGemini, you can find easy-to-follow video Tutorials of Sewing, Quilting, and Cooking, and yesterday I tried to make a baby pants based on how is taught on the video. So....let me share you the step-by-step pictures....Notes : I'll just give some short captions on each pictures since this is my first project (oh, I'm so embarrassed as the sewing rookie ;p), but I'll be giving you the full video tutorial on how to make it (^^,)......
Choose a baby pants for the template and place it with the long side of the pants on the folded side of the fabric, like in the picture below.
Trace it on the wrong side of your fabric
Don't forget to add 1/2" for seam allowance, cut it, and do another one with the same steps.
Now you'll have two pants patterns.
Unfolded the two patterns, match them together with the right side facing each other on the inside, as in the picture. Pinned and sew both of the Crotch.
Irons to smooth the pants lines. I also found it easier to sew the legs without the need to pin.
Now we can sewing the legs part, then hem the bottom of the feet.
I'm using elastic for the waist.
And.....Voila, my first baby pants!
If you notice I'm using the zig-zag stitch when making this pants. Why...? Because my straight stitch is a big mess! I need to practice on it a lot! Another mistakes I made was the waist. I didn't measure it properly. Remember the baby pants I chose for the template? It's using elastic and on the small size of it. Now, the right thing I should do is to stretch it to get the original measure of the waist.....like in the picture below :
All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result, and of course I have a lot of Notes to be fixed on another projects to come. After all, a perfect Diamond needs a long process to make....got it!?! Now, as I promise before, I'll give you the video of How-To from TheCraftGemini....do check out her channel on Youtube, so informative and so much helpful. Sweet dream Sweet Pies.... :*
